Ahh Spring!

Since my thoughts on Spring seem to be all over the place, I’ll just start with the fact that I probably bought too many flowers.  Is it possible to do something like buy too many?   One pot was overflowing with violas, petunias, begonias, impatients, it was really pretty but too full to the point that hanging the pot caused the shepherds hook to nearly fall over…  I couldn’t have that so my new mission was to take out all the flowers and place in other areas.   Which by the way looks better!   I spent almost the entire day (today) working on planting more flowers and more veggies.   If all the onions planted come up… we’ll have more than we know what to do with! Winking smile   Beans, beans and more beans…. we’ve got plenty planted now we wait.  Lettuce is coming up.  And so are the zinnias, can’t eat zinnias but they’ll sure be pretty standing tall in the garden.    I noticed too that some plants died off over the winter months.  I guess I would have died too if I had to some how keep my roots warm throughout the blizzard-y days and nights.

Did I mention that we may be rescuing a dog from the shelter?   Well my hubby and I are still discussing it… we are trying to decide which kind would be best for our household.   Our cat won’t appreciate it.    Kitty is rather funny in so many odd ways, like he doesn’t like to be picked up and held.  He loves to chase me around the house or pick a fight with me.   I’m getting tired of his antics.  I’ve been ready for a doggie.   I need an animal that likes me!

First One...

This was one of my first attempts at using the paint brush program and getting used to drawing with the mouse. ;)

Wordless Wednesdays

I thought it might be nice to have an official "welcome to Spring" banner!   This was made by me several years ago.   I don't have a clue what site it was for... doesn't matter. ;)

Lets see what other things I can find......

Oh Yes, here's another one.   One thing I've learned in making a mouse-drawn subject... it takes breath control and lots of patience.   Can you tell I have a love for birds?  ;)

This one was specifically made for Christmas cards.

Be Blessed everyone!  God loves you and so do I.
Be sure to check out Wordless Wednesdays @ Never Growing Old
And have a great Wednesday! ~Mary~

Making a Terrarium

I have decided it would be fun to make a terrarium.  I will be starting with a fairly large fish (empty) tank, its been cleaned out of all the micro-squiggly things found in aquariums.   The tank itself is 30 gallons… so I’ve got to decide (make a list) of plants to grow in this tank.   I don’t like to start projects blindly…so a little research will go into finding just the right plants.

Did you know you can actually order plants via Amazon.com?

SEEDS  can be purchased…  I thought this was most unusual.  The only items I’ve ordered from Amazon.com are DVD’s.  I’m sure there are more things offered through this company… more than meets the eye! Winking smile

I will be posting pictures of my adventures of making this otherwise ugh-ly tank into something beautiful… hopefully! Smile

Stay tuned for updates.

Prayer for my brother

My brother fell and cut his ear open.   We are praying that God will heal him quickly. ~Mary

Psalm 37:4

Whoa, There!

A man bought a horse from a minister, who said it was a good horse but would go only when you said, "Praise the Lord" and stop only when you said,  "Amen".
The man got on the horse and said, "Praise the Lord".   The horse took off at a gallop.
The horse headed out into the countryside, and before long the man noticed he was headed for a cliff.  In a panic, the man started yelling, "Whoa! Stop! Whoa! Whoa!" But the horse kept running.
Finally the man remembered what the minister told him and yelled  "Amen!"   The horse skidded to a stop right at the edge of the cliff.

The man wiped his arm across his brow and sighed with relief, "Praise the Lord!"

Reminisce 1994

Does anyone remember the magazine Reminisce?   My mother gave me copies she had saved throughout the years.   I was looking over some of the issues when I ran across some interesting little things....like:  Back when kids signed autograph books at the end of the school year, they used clever ways of saying how long they planned to be your friend.

Yours till Sitting Bull stands up.
Yours till Niagara Falls.
Yours till the kitchen sinks.
Yours till the calf in your leg eats the corn on your toe.
Yours till Germany gets Hungary, fries Turkey in Greece and eats it on China, then Russias off to work.

These are clever.

I did a little research on the benefits of Olive Oil.   Just recently I purchased some handmade soap from Debbie's Handmade Soaps
