Times Past

..sounds of thunder echo in the background..as I sit here pondering on what to write.  It has been a long time since I posted anything on my blog.  Internet connection problems caused timed outs...it was really getting on my nerves.
I forget how long I've been on break...but its been long enough to miss the kiddos.. miss the kids? ...Yes.  I'm sentimental when it comes to the end of a school year...then to make matters worse our little school closed down...budget cuts.  Most of the kids will be attending different schools of their (parents choice)...I'm not sure where I will be....or if my job will even exist in the Fall.  I am trying to keep high hopes...my hope is in the LORD.  He will DIRECT my steps...leading me to just the right school...where I can make a difference in each child that comes into my class.

Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4.

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.  Matthew21:22

QUIZ: Can you follow directions?

This is a timed test--you have only 5 minutes to complete it.

  1. Read everything carefully before doing anything.
  2. Smile, then sit back comfortably for as long as you choose.
  3. Circle the word "everything" in instruction #1.
  4. Brush away an imaginary fly. Blink 12 times.
  5. Sign your name after instruction #1.
  6. Mentally subtract 19 from 26 and extend as many fingers as there are digits in the answer.
  7. If 9 is divisible by 3, touch your head while you count silently to 11.
  8. Draw a rectangle around the word "doing" in instruction #1.
  9. Loudly call out your name when you get this far along.
  10. On the reverse side of your paper, add 8,950 and 9,805.
  11. Put a circle around your answer for number 10.
  12. If you think you have followed directions carefully to this point, call out loudly, "I HAVE".
  13. Cross your left ankle over your right ankle. Then uncross your ankles and slap your right heel.
  14. In your normal speaking voice, count from 10 to 1, backwards.
  15. Punch 3 holes in the top of your paper with your pencil.
  16. If you are the first person to reach this point, call out loudly: "I AM THE LEADER IN FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS".
  17. Grasp your throat with both hands and open your mouth.
  18. Underline all even numbers on the left side of your paper.
  19. Say clearly: "I AM NEARLY FINISHED. I HAVE FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS".
Now that you have finished reading everything carefully, do only instructions 1 and 2.

Summer came in like a roaring lion...dark gloomy mean looking clouds gathered overhead, swallowing up the glorious morning sunshine, rushing winds blew in hard cold drops of rain, pounding thunder, streaks of lightening close to house, then far away...this was our first full day of Summer.

I'm back online again...its so frustrating not to have access to the online community.  I haven't been able to stay online long enough to update my blog, not even to check my email.
I've been checking our little garden and its coming along well.  The only good way to pull weeds is just sit out in the big middle of it all and PULL.

I've got another service person here got to go!

What can I say?  The internet was out for almost 2 weeks...
I've been horribly busy with work.
The kitchen floor is being replaced...
The weather is terribly hot...

And I'm very tired.   Yup. That pretty much covers it.
the lovely flowers pictured were at a roadside store... I thought the prices were rather high...but they were so pretty I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a picture.

I've been working on characters that could represent who we are as a family..without having to spend time on getting pictures made of the real human beings.  It would have been better to scan the image...yes, I know..but I couldn't wait to share what I had made.   I wanted my "character" to wear pink..I love to wear pink shirts, sweaters, tops..or anything accented with pink.    I'm also "drawn" to pink & violet flowers..the real kind.   I wasn't sure what colors to pick for hubby's character.  He likes to wear whatever is comfortable at home..however, he dresses nice for work and for going out.
Alright, well...that's all for now...have a good day.  Mary

I thought I would join in the fun and list some simple pleasures, from my side of the woods...here goes...
When I'm getting ready to take a picture, I look for something interesting like a dragonfly sitting atop a flower or a butterfly enjoying a drink of nectar.
Here's another doodle I made.
We can either allow ourselves to dwell on the depressing news we hear everyday...or embrace good thoughts. Everyday there are Simple Pleasures all around us!
